Megan Howard serves as Controller for MuniCap, Inc., overseeing the firm’s internal accounting functions and managerial reporting. Ms. Howard has over 20 years of combined accounting and real estate experience ranging from small businesses to large publicly held corporations. Prior to joining MuniCap, she served as a lead accountant for a Fortune 500 government contractor. She brings extensive experience in general accounting functions, commercial lease accounting, contract and financial analysis, policy and business process development, financial reporting, project management, and compliance.

Ms. Howard also worked as a small business accounting consultant for 20 years, where she performed a wide range of accounting functions and advised companies on how to maximize profits and improve operational processes. Ms. Howard has been a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina for 17 years and recently passed her MD real estate exam. Ms. Howard is passionate about all areas of real estate, but especially the areas of property value optimization and neighborhood revitalization.

Ms. Howard earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting with High Honors and studied Finance at the University of Maryland Global Campus. She received numerous academic and professional awards for both performance and character throughout her career. Ms. Howard is a registered Municipal Advisor (Series 50).
